Further to your suggestion of an impending battery failure I recharged the battery last night but had little success with only 11.5 volt by this morning. The anti-theft light will turn off after approximately three seconds, indicating the system is disabled. Repeat the steps if the light flashes rapidly or stays on for more than a few seconds.
My Ford Focus 2011 randomly gets the battery warning light up, if I don't either pull over turn everything off or in extreme cases disconnect the battery, then reconnect.
